The Chesapeake Outdoor Group at work...a beautiful thing to watch!    COG's motto is to have fun while also helping out the community and environment in which we live. The diversity of our members and the people we help is an integral part of our organization. Many non-profit groups are very focused on specific issues, which is important, but we like to offer our members a variety of programs in which to donate their time and efforts. We also believe rewards are important. That is why we have a membership and dues. The dues and donations from sponsors help to pay for three annual events to reward our members. We like to help...but we also enjoy the fun part of life! Upcoming Events GREENSCAPE – Sat. April 19, 2008 – COG will be taking on improving Back Creek Nature Park – Details will follow as we get closer but please consider helping out.  All volunteers will get free entry into the Spring Picnic. On Sept. 22 & Sept. 29 (9-3pm), Back Creek Nature Park West-End was in need of people to help plant 3,000 plants!! This work was needed to maintain the schedule for their grants. We helped with planting a living shoreline, wetland banks, outflow stream bed, and a rain garden. See pics of some of the crew from Sept 22 here !
